Hey all, after searching through the forum for a long time, there seems to be a common question. Does a particular windscreen work with handguards? Now, I don't know for all of them but if anyone out there has knowledge in the yay or nay category then that would be mighty helpful for a lot of people I figure.

Here are the 3 I've confirmed:

MRA&MRA vario: Compatible with barkbusters but not the bark busters storms.

Zero Gravity: Ok with Barkbusters regular.

Puig: Interference with barkbusters at full lock. It was confirmed by Puig that this setup is not compatible. According to several other members rox risers will fix this situation.

Lets here your combinations, good or bad!

The Madstad windscreen would probably work with any and all handguards, since the screen is moved out forward on adjuster brackets. I use mine with the Cycle Gear guards and there is plenty of room.

Twisted Throttle relied to an e-mail I sent last year about the MRA Vario windshield and the Barkbuster VPS they have on their project bike, and they said the Barkbuster handguards don't hit. Never confirmed myself.

Honda Touring screen and cheapest Cycle Gear hand guards/brush guards may touch, depending upon precise handlebar rotation and guard placement. You can still turn full lock, but it may just touch. Since I put the Rox Risers on, there's no more touching.

I have the Madstad windscreen, I just installed Barkbuster Storms, they hit the windscreen before I can achieve full lock. I am not losing much so I am going to live with it for a while and then if it is a problem I will probably trim a bit of the windscreen

I did the same MRA Vario windshield and the Barkbuster VPS setup they did because I really liked how it looked.
In the lower position it hits just a few millimeters before lock. You can still reach lock if needed, the windscreen will just rub against the handguards. A few rubber washers behind the windscreen would fix this but its not a problem for me.

No way you're getting to lock with the MRA mounted in the upper position. The handgaurds would break the screen before you get to it.

My experience also, but I am not going to do anything about it. Not a big deal.

I had CalSci make a medium without the side "wings" so my Givi handguards do not hit (they used to with the regular CalSci medium for the nc700).

Same great wind/weather protection without the guard interference.

I cannot comment on the rest but I can validate that Rox Riser will fix the issues with the Puig Windscreen as that is my setup. I did have the contact prior to installing the risers. Now I have lots of clearance.

I have Rox Risers with the bars pulled back a bit as well, a Madstaad screen, and the SW Motech Handguards. Even when I put the screen as far from the handguards as possible I come about a centimeter from hitting full lock on each side. The Madstaad is chewing on the handguards a bit but the windscreen shows no wear. Hope that helps.

I made my own wind screen, and since I have hand guards, I hinged the section that needs to move out of the way. (I'll see if I can find a photo)
