    Looking for Hippo Hands Recommendations

The beauty of this setup if I need to do something requiring dexterity while riding, I stuff my left hand into my crotch, easily pull out my hand with the Asian cotton glove on, giving me good dexterity. Riding in wet, cold conditions my hands and inserts never get wet and stay toasty warm...

    Windshields: form vs. function

The only important airflow is that OVER the top of the shield, thus OVER the helmet. A clear shield will not detract from the look of the OEM bike. I set the (tall) shield height to 1 1/2 car length ahead under normal sitting position. I've owned several Parabellum shields over the years on...

Video links: Body Panel and Fairing Removal 2012-2015 NC700/750 X and S models

Very good video. A picture paints a thousand words. U-Tube is a God send for millions. I have service manuals on every Honda product I own, except auto now that they are all computerized and no pub available. My Accord owner manual is 624 pages.

Question What bolt size is this?

    That is it exactly. Metric.

    DCT Manual Shifting

I would have needed more speed to carry the momentum through the mud. I am senior. Slow and steady is a must for me now. I run a Rokon and MF tractor on my farm. SLOW and TRACTION is key to safe operation. Speed kills. Blue Skies Green Lights.

    DCT Manual Shifting

DCT manual shifting is all I use. Auto shifts way too early for my liking and tends to lug the engine. In these hills of WV the manual DCT is so much fun to ride. DOT had a 100 yard section of road to my farm closed for repair a few years ago. I was able to ride across a hayfield and cross the...

    Hit a new animal yesterday

Traveling at night one will notice the white stripe in a relatively sharp turn, is gray in the turn, meaning when it was striped the machine dump the beads OFF the paint line. The nozzles need to be closer together. I told my lawyer money was not the issue; redesigning their equipment is.

Need Help 2016 NC700XD electrical gremlin

Strong battery health is paramount for proper electronics function on computer run vehicles. (When the clock on my ST1300 would start indicating 1AM on startup, it was time for a new battery. It always started OK.) When my 2017 DCT stopped holding charge, I switched to a much lighter (I call...

    Anti rattle spring location

The spring holds tension on the pads to decrease wear. Honda engines are smooth running with no slop or out of balance condition. Looseness is a form of out of balance, IMO.

    Anti rattle spring location

The pad spring and pad retainer are shown. You should be able to determine their orientation by a 'footprint' they left when removed. Good luck.

    Hit a new animal yesterday

If I remember right, insurance paid all of the 20 minute flight. My partner says it was $33K. ( In 2015 a DOT road stripe contractor spilled reflective (sand) bead into a 12 degree slope hairpin R/H turn into the tire track). (I was traveling about 10 MPH but hit so hard it knocked me out).

    Battery drain question

Agree. (Excessive) heat is the enemy of lithium; everything for that matter. All Honda (and probably all) hybrids have their own dedicated fan cooling system for the traction battery. An iphone case is made of heat dissipating metal and will overheat with extended use if covered in...

    Battery drain question

Just watched a 15 minute U-tube video 'The battery basics: Understanding lithium-ion, lead acid and more', with many others available. Lead-acid started it all and has evolved into a complex industry.

    Battery drain question

Heavy lead acid batteries are old school technology compared to the new age light lithium batteries that are in many applications now. I converted months ago on my NC when the OEM battery would not hold charge. I call them electronic batteries as they have a circuit board but recommend its' own...
