Anybody planning to go up this year? I'm thinking it would be May 19th (or 20th) through the 23rd. I've got it on my calendar.

Small bikes (scooters at least) already have an automatic trans - CVT. For non scooters, I do think cost and weight are a factor of why they aren't available. Those that want a small bike without shifting can go the scooter route, so I think the manufacturers think they have that market covered.

I looked but didn't see it. It's possible I may have missed it though.

Les and I held up the NC700 forum banner at Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground this year. We had a great time - the weather was great and the roads were emptier than I've ever seen them this time of year. Even on Saturday they weren't that bad. I got there on Wednesday and left Sunday. Wednesday...

Awesome news! I'm changing my plans to head that way this week. I've never camped there but have ridden through on 276 many times and stopped in once or twice. It's a really nice campground. Thanks for the heads up. It's closer than Two Wheels (or KSL) for me too.

I think I'll head to Suches Ga. on Wednesday. The weather looks to be great. Maybe I'll see some of you there if you decide to go. Harrison Arkansas sounds tempting but way too far for me (14 hours of slab) with my limited timeframe. FYI - I hear that KSL may be open on 5/22.

There's always Two Wheels of Suches not too far away in Georgia. I know they're open. They have a restaurant that's doing take out too. I was there and camped with the ST group late last April. There are lots of great roads around there and it's not too far from all the great NC roads. In fact...

No offense, but this is a risk any time you travel alone on a motorcycle hundreds of miles from home. It's not specific to this trip.

We could easily do the majority of our riding in TN, GA, and SC if it turns out that NC is not being so friendly.

I agree it would be best to ride in small groups. I doubt we'd get stopped, but if we did we could say we're going hiking. As long we all have the same story, we should be good.

It's a good bet that restaurants won't be open for sit down service, but will for take out (as they have been all along). Food stores will also be open as they have been. Outdoor activities have been allowed which include riding and camping. I think if we maintain a reasonable distance at KSL...

Thanks for reminding me to bring my stove and other cooking gear in case it's needed.

I recently got a set of Tourmaster Elite saddlebags for my 2017 SV650. They're excellent quality and on closeout on a number of the online retailers. I got them from Chaparral Motorsports (chapmoto.com). They would certainly work on an NC700.
