I would flush out the expansion tank too , its where all the gunk seem to settle in mine .. only use distilled water or expect waterpump leaks .

I bought my now 80000 miles nc700x in January 2012 and it was indeed produced in 2011 . Just a few corroded connector issues with all year riding in Scotland and riding through deep floods and fords .

For sudden no anything ,fuses ok ,battery ok ,then I suspect connector on the steering stem from ignition switch to some relay I guess...anyway it was my problem .

I was tired after a long walk and swinging my leg with walking boots on over the seat ,I caught the seat with the sharpish lace holder at the top of my boots and ripped my seat :( Nothing a bit of duck tape couldn't save but I don't look as friendly at my walking boots no more) .

Sounds like its that `built in character` those Honda wizards incorporated into the NC700 `unbalanced` design , After 61000, no oil use, trouble free miles I have gotten used to the grumblings of this engine.

Ive changed rear tyre chain and sprockets just by pulling the bike over on its side stand and tying it to a fence post . For front wheel work I've found pushing a long bolt or bar through where the centre stand bolts would go..this gives a nice surface for the groove of the borrowed car jack to...

I found when jump starting mine that it ran rough in safe mode . It wasn't until I had a fully charged battery that it ran right.

also when I used to use a big chain ,a friendly local hoody said they just smash the wheel spoke off with a hammer if they couldn't be arsed with tackling the chain . sighs.

I agree Griff ,I am just the other side of the Irish sea from you its never been so wet n windy and mild in my memory . I travel regularly to Bradford and its surprising the amount of closed roads and damaged or missing bridges . I am being a bit put off further trips as it always seems windier...

I agree hills are a nono ...but watch out for compacted ice ridges under fresh snow ,tips me off everytime ..and going down hill with only using feet for brakes is downright scary. I keep promising myself never ever do it again but here in Scotland I always get hit with the forecast saying 10%...
