I just came off the BRP yesterday at the NC line. Came over from Seneca Rocks WV and did the Skyline Drive from Front Royal to end & camped out with some Canadian brothers in Waynesboro and then did the BRP to Meadows of Dan and stayed at Willville MC only campground (wonder place and people)...
I have the Cogent Dynamics rear shock. It is exceptional & has delivered beyond all my expectations. The handling and comfort changed exponentially. 650 mile days are possible in comfort. I did the Emulators on the front before I found Cogent for the rear.... the combination has been exceptional...
thanks for all the informative replies. It sounds as though everyone is pretty happy with the results.
I am primarily looking for a plush ride vs the very harsh ride of the standard NC and also to be more comfortable on the occasional fire road. My NC handles superbly in the mountain roads...
I have just ordered a Cogent rear shock for my 2013 DCT. I have put 7000 miles on the stock shock and cannot endure another mile of it. It is a little more comfortable loaded with luggage on long trips, but unloaded on rough roads it's awful IMO.
I changed over the front end suspension to...
The Madstad made a huge difference in the comfort level of this bike. It takes a few minutes of riding stopping and adjusting, but then it is set it and forget it. I'm 5 10 and got the advised 20 inch model. it is spot on. The claptrap by the way is very well made and functional.
welcome from a former V-Strom owner as well........you are flying into a beautiful area of NY for sure. You will enjoy the ride south from there. When you get down to the southern Smokies make sure you ride over the Cherahola Skyway down into Telico which is only a few minutes from I-75 if you...
Thanks for all the great info and personal experience with these bags.
In reviewing the cost of the other American made expedition quality bags, I find they are all pricey and near and over the Mosko's pricing. American made stuff is expensive now. I see
there is a long thread over on the ADV...
Bamamate: Did you have to mount the 35's pretty high on your racks to clear the stock exhaust?
What racks did you use to support the Mosko's? What rear top rack are you using?
Like your story of dragging your bike up on the bags. They sure look like tough bags...
Has anyone on here purchased the MOSKO MOTO soft panniers for their NX700x's???
Its apparently a West Coast company who has designed some really neat looking side mount panniers and duffles and also appears to have some very innovative stuff in the pipeline that might interest those of us...
I have owned and traveled extensively on an 07 650DL. It was totally reliable and never let me down. It had a Russel seat, great windshield, center stand, Pelican case luggage. It was very top heavy, and would blow around on the highway, but man what a smooth running and reliable pack mule for...
The NC, especially the DCT model in D mode, produces a low frequency vibration when it is lugging. I noticed yesterday when on a particular road that the engine vibrations initiated a strong sympathetic resonance in the front suspension which wasn't there before the addition of Race Tech Gold...
As a woods rider on conventional dual sport bikes who uses the clutch to modulate traction in uncertain terrain a lot, I find the DCT engages from a stop with almost identical precision as clutch release on a dual sport bike once you learn the technique....which is the most amazing thing about...
