FJR is a nice machine! The Concours I picked up is a lot like it and I can attest to it's fun factor on winding roads. It may be a bit heavy to roll out of my shed, but once aboard, it's a different experience.

Gold Wing would probably be the most comfortable two up option. Or a Valkyrie. I'd go with something that runs at high speeds at a low rpm and has some weight for stability.
+1 on the ST for a long distance commuter. I loved the NC for commuting to work and the occasional highway ride, but for comfort, I'd stick with the ST. I recently purchased a Concours to add to the stable and found I preferred it the majority of the time.
The Concours is a beast to move around. I picked up a Park N Move which makes a huge difference getting it out of its shed. Spinning it around and pushing it out forward makes it much easier. Once in motion though, the Connie is just as easy as the NCX to handle. And yes, that was my bike Ahmed...
