Here's a couple of pics showing my Givi screen / Palmer Products (made here in the UK) adjustable brackets set-up and the rad guard I made to fit the handy mounting points on my SW Motech crash bars. Only just fitted the Palmers and still experimenting with the 9 preset screen positions (3 for height, 3 for rake angle). Will report back when I've found the best setting but my initial feeling is that, while this set-up is better than the Givi screen alone, the improvement isn't as big a step as I got by replacing the small OE screen with the Givi mounted in the fixed (i.e. factory) position.

I think I'll probably wind up adding a semi-rigid 'dash panel' like I did on my TDM (see below) to get better laminar airflow and protect the instrument cluster from the worst of the rain and road muck.

Ride safe!

Did you windscreen come with the bottom painted the way it is. That should really help with preventing the glare. Looks good.

Hey Mike, Southerner here from UK Forum.

Never heard of Palmer Products - do you have a web link for them?

And, also, where did the fork protectors come from? They appear to be a good fit.

Cheers

I like it, especially the Palmer brackets! IMO, this is what Madstad should've done for the screen. Make brackets that fit the stock screen -- therefore all the other aftermarket screens -- and price it reasonably. For $100 USD, I'll probably give those Palmer brackets a try. For $300, I returned my Madstad because it wasn't really any better than my Givi no matter how I adjusted it.

Thanks for sharing Mike.

Trey, thanks for the info on the Madstad. After a bit of experimentation, I've settled on the lowest height and most vertical rake settings on the Palmer brackets. That gives me some wind blast on my helmet (clears rain off my visor and not too noisy as I wear earplugs) but none of the dreaded buffeting / turbulence. If you order the Palmers, I would strongly recommend you pay the extra $16 or so for the plastic knobs that allow manual adjustment as shown on my pics.

Does Palmer ship to the US? In addition does this actually create the two separate zones of airflow like the Madstad "does?"

Hi CGFS, Palmer ship to the US and world-wide. When you order on their website and select US delivery, they give you a number of boxes for different order values in £UK and you just click on the right one for your order value. The Palmer set-up does create two airflow zones, although the laminar effect is probably not as clean as on the MadStad because their mounting plate presents a continuous smooth surface that the air will flow over much faster than it will across the bodywork/instrument cluster of the bike. Thing is, it's hard to know how much that effect contributes to the overall efficiency of the design. I believe that the adjustable rake and locating the screen further away from the rider are the key factors - and the Palmers and MadStads both do that.
