I just installed a new "plug and play" horn today from a company I didn't even know made horns lol. I got a Piaa slim line sports horn to replace the stock joke of a horn. I realized this morning after i got merged on twice while honking my horn the only way to make myself known is to get a louder horn. This Piaa horn is 112dbs which if your wondering sounds twice as loud as stock and doesn't sound like a scooter horn, more like a car horn now. It uses the stock wires and connectors and mounts somewhat where the stock one did. I had to move the bracket around and relocate the stock wires around the frame a different way to make the stretch to the new horn but not hard at all. You wont notice it sticking out Thursday when I install my new sw motech crash bars that I ordered just now. If anyone's looking for a way to wake up drivers I highly recommend this horn upgrade. I'd rather never have to test it's effectiveness but we all know that wont happen.

Did you use a relay? If not, you could blow a fuse or, worse, blow the horn switch

That has a nice sound

I am going with the Fiaam 130db horns they are LOUD and are about $15-$20 it comes in either high or low tone, most of my bike's That I have put them on, I put both one high and one low tone, they really get the attention of other drivers.

Looks like an easy install for a very necessary item. I installed a pair of high powered horns on my Juke and have been looking for a horn upgrade for the NC700 that was compact and easier to install instead than some of those larger/louder units. Good find!

Not trying to be rude but maybe in improper install? They list specifically in the instructions if you don't put the wires positive to positive it won't work. And nothing is labeled on the wires as to which is which. I don't see why that wouldn't blow the fuse if mismatched. I've been using mine daily even if just for fun and no problems at all.

I installed a simple car alarm siren instead of the original PC speaker. 12W or 20W power consumption, I only had to replace the horn and it works as previously. Loud enough... air horns or those kind, that require additional power needs to be relayed.

horns from mercedes sounds really nice. planning to pick a couple for 5-10$max from local junk yard. one might fit where the original is and i see an empty hole on some bracket inside, above the radiator. this is where the second might go.

Do we have any Italian drivers here?
They invented this PIAA....?
:p

I have never used the horn here...maybe only once to test if it was working.
:p

All is possible. The horn was ordered through my mechanic to be installed with several other accessories at the time. The horn worked on the work bench but he reported it blew the fuse on the bike and didn't want to investigate any further because he didn't have any more spares for the fuse. Rather than let him return the horn, I bought it off of him thinking one day it would get done with a proper wiring harness but I never got around to it and it still sits on a shelf. Glad to hear it worked for you as a direct replacement. I hope others report the same.

I use it to warn the pedestrians to get out of my way, when they try to cross the road, but they have a red light. Or warn the cars to give me way at lane splitting. And when i accidently push it instead of the turn switch :)
