2021 NC750x purchased yet?

They unloaded the bike from the truck today, Wednesday.
The only thing we are having the dealer install is Oxford Heated Grips.
Either Thursday or Friday for riding it home, just in time for my wife's high school girlfriends to come for a cancer survivor Summer visit.
I took some time off work to do all the rest of the farkling while the girls giggle about their high school days.
I'll be the lucky old man with grease on his hands in the garage.

While the girls are giggling upstairs, I will be installing:
  • Barkbusters Storm
  • SW Motech Crash Bars
  • Honda Center Stand
  • Givi Luggage Rack 1192FZ
  • Givi Monokey topcase plate M9B
  • Givi Pannier Rack PLO1192MK
  • SAE plug for USB, or Battery Tender, or Gerbing Heated Sweater
That should be good for now.
Possibly at a later date an Eastern Beaver fuse panel - a Winter project.
Hey Mudtrack,
I just tried to remove the weighted ends to install VPS hand guards but stumped on the throttle side. The directions indicate to loosen the throttle housing to slide it off to expose the two holes to release the clamp. Removed the back but the front (with all the buttons) won’t budge (loosened 4 more screws but stopped as I did not want to break the bike on day 2. Any advice?

Eagle has landed .... in my garage. After 1.5 hours and 65 miles compared to CTX-700 DCT.
Seat seems very good (not as cushy as CTX) . DCT seems smoother. Front fork a little stiff on sharp bumps.
Power can't tell by this short ride. Length and width is smaller than CTX, non issue. Added to farkle list .... foot pegs
down and forward mounting. I have 29-30 inch inseam, my heels are just off the ground, that's fine.

Now , its too dang hot to work in garage, I don't have A/C. bleh

Congrats! Now is a good time to catch sales on AC units. I have a 15K in my garage and it works great....something to consider.

Sorry, I have not gotten there yet.
Too busy with a brush cutter and chain saw for the next few days.
I will let you know when I get to hand guard installation if I have any success.
However I have read on this forum that some people do not bother removing the Honda handlebar weights and simply unscrew the long bolt holding the weights and simply use the same bolt to mount the Barkbusters.

Or purchase a 10mm longer bolt that makes up for the width of the Barkbusters metal frame.

Thanks for the tip.
I knew you were one of the people who kept Honda internal weights and/or bar end weights.
Actually, call me lazy, but I wanted heated grips to be installed by the dealer so that someone else could break the Honda thread locker. I will likely take Dduelin's advise and mount Barkbusters with the longer bolt.

The OEM oval head screw for the bar end weight is 65mm long. It will work with Barkbusters but won't thread as far into the weight as it originally did. It's been 6 years since I installed Barkbusters on my 2015 but I think the BB kit has the longer screws included. If not, you can source 6mm x 1.0 thread oval head screws 75mm long. The stock ones are 65mm long.

A few have said that following the full installation instructions will yield the strongest result.
However NC750X bikes are not really going to be used for hard core offroad use. Most likely will be a few tip overs, not crashing handlebars into trees.
Mounting Barkbusters using oem internal and external weights will be strong enough for the average intended use of a NC750X, in my opinion.

Awesome and super helpful. Thanks dduelin and mudtrack.
Cheers!

Yes, they are plenty strong even with the 65mm stock screws.

What for it or go to 1:15.

Congratulations to mudtrack/mrs. mudtrack, brown envelope and wheels on getting their 2021 NC.
My story is much like yours but unexpectedly I got a call from a dealership that I first dealt with in March - asked me if I was still looking.
Your luck must have spilled over too me. Thank-you.

Looks like the logjam was broken. My dealer had 2 on order and said the 2nd will potentially ship this week - only a 6 week delay for the guy waiting.
And since in the US we could have a choice of any color as long as it is red, here is mine. #78 off the line for the US (based off the Vin).

Is this a manual or DCT? I can't tell from the photo. I have only found one manual east of Colorado so far, but Miami does me little good. My dealer is saying late October, as I have seen on many web sites east of the Mississippi. I have seen a few DCTs east of the Mississippi. Congratulations, I am jealous you get to ride some during the summer. A little image sleuthing tells me that is a DCT. Looks like I am still waiting. I feel like that headhunter in Beetlejuice that had the 12 digit waiting room number.

All motorcycles should be red!
Congratulations.
Maybe I should paint my V-Strom red.
I hope the smaller Africa Twin / Transalp will be red.

Looking at the engine from the right side, you can see the cover with the 2 screws, just below the engine oil dipstick.
That is the cover for the DCT oil filter.
Yea, my image sleuthing also found that the manual does not have a badge on the bottom of the engine, so the badge must be the DCT badge.
