I am looking at getting a budget dashcam/motovlog setup. Generally in this price range they are all gonna be pretty much the same, so I was wondering if anyone had any experience?

Good to know! I actually came across a youtuber who said that most of these cameras are not as good as the reviews would lead you to believe due to fraud by the manufacturer, promising a free gift for a positive review. Im going to spend a little more and get a Campark V30 Native.I have found most of those cheap action cams are about the same...I have videos posted on youtube (davidleoncampbell) taken with such cameras.... most are not glove friendly as the touch screens wont activate with gloves on. I dont have that model of apeman but I have an apeman in my car as a dash cam...It automatically comes on and starts recording with power...I had an older action cam (not an apeman but a cheap chinese model) which I liked better (it doesnt have the model name or # on it). If you want to just record and watch, they are ok, but the videos are not go pro quality, especially if you ride where you ride from sun to shade to sun to shade quickly-the cameras just dont have time to adjust...
I hadn't considered that, but it's good advice. I will probably end up with a helmet mounted cam for action shots and a bike mounted cam for insurance purposes. Any chance you want to get rid of that dash cam setup? The advice I was given was that a "dash cam" is not an action/vblog cam and visa-versa. Dash cams can do some things pretty well, but not others. Action cams do other things well.
Decide what you really want to do, then figure out the camera type you need to do that. You may end up with multiple cameras if you want to do some sort vblog. If accident recording and wide angle shots from a low perspective is what you are looking for then a single or dual dash cam set up will be your choice.
I was given a new dual camera dash cam set up and then never installed it!
I'd have to find it before I could consider it. It was given to me last summer. I got busy and packed it away.I hadn't considered that, but it's good advice. Well, let me know. Very interestedI'd have to find it before I could consider it. It was given to me last summer. I got busy and packed it away.
My one complaint about GoPro is the need for a proprietary mic adapter but I will keep that in mind.I bought a used Gopro Hero 4 Session on ebay for just over $100 last year with some accessories. Works pretty good for me. Make sure you select 1080p HD in the youtube vid to get a good idea of the quality. This was shot in 1080p HD wide at 48 FPS I believe.
TakomaJD nice job getting down in those corners Now I know what you were talking about in “Tires” thread when you suggested the Dunlop roadsmart III”s might not have the grip you need for those curves.I bought a used Gopro Hero 4 Session on ebay for just over $100 last year with some accessories.
