Has anybody installed the R-Gaza Crash Bars Engine Guards?

I looked at those too. I'm not really thrilled with the way they use a simple hardware store U-bolt to attach them to the bike and the fact that they are welded to flat steel. Just didn't really look like quality construction/engineering when I was comparing these with others. In the end I've not purchased any yet, but I did cross these off my list of consideration. YMMV

I just had the Givi crash bars installed on mine. I had the Denali Led lights attached to them, as well as a set of freeway pegs I got from Dennis Kirk. I think they're really for Harleys but they're all black so they're not extremely noticeable and were super easy to install with the Rivco 1" bar mount. The Givi crash bars seem to go lower on the engine so it makes for a pretty comfortable location to mount them to. The ones you're mentioning seem to be a little higher, I wanted to stick my legs forward but not really up. You might prefer them higher but it's something to consider.

Hey guys, I am not sure if you are still interested but I did buy them and installed them. If you are worried about the U bolts, have no fear. Those things actually started to bend the metal that they attach too, they are heavy duty. I like how far they spread out from the bike. If I ever drop my bike I know I wont have a scratch on my plastic. The only points of contact that will be made are the tires and the engine guards.

I do like the look of those. I like the horizontal bar that comes back. I might have considered these over the Mutazu had I seen them first. I do still like the Mutazu, though.

I am thinking about getting these for my 2015. Any installation issues to note? Also, how do you like them after a few weeks of riding around with them?

No issues at all, just a common sense note to put a lift or something under the engine so it doesn't move in the installation process since you remove the bolts holding in the engine.
I wouldn't call this an issue but the right side U-bolt was a little bit harder to install cause a heat protected wire that runs right along there, just make sure when tightening down that the U-bolt is perpendicular to the engine guard (pointing straight out)
Another thing to be aware of is the reserve that attaches to the bottom engine bolt on the right side, it is a little tight when reinstalling, but once everything is getting tightened down it syncs into place.

I honestly dont even notice they are there. I noted down below about some little bugs in installing but nothing is flawed with the product. (took a little long getting here, it was sent from russia). When riding on the highway I put my feet up on the guards and its kinda comfy actually, just mind the hot engine right by. I might eventually add highway pegs on the engine guards.

I found a new type of crash bar that looks interesting to me. Has anyone tried these?
I was wondering about the build quality, wind noise, and weather highway pegs could mount to them. I might put these on my Christmas list.
I found them on Amazon. They are also on Ebay.

I ordered and installed the R-Gaza aka Ruchka-Gaza crash bars on my 2012 NC700X. The were currently NOT on Amazon so I ordered them from the ebay store.

COST: $150+ $40 S&H direct from Russia + sales tax = $201 out the door. No other costs, or special stuff with customs, etc. Just like placing a normal order on ebay for a domestic item.

Shipping Time: 15 days from the day I placed the order to arriving at my door.

Install time: 1.5 hrs working very slowly and carefully and I make a short video highlighting a few things.

Build Quality: Good enough. While there are really heavy duty bars for Harley's weighing 900+lbs or a engine "cage" for racing R-Gaza is not at that level but provides the basic protection for the radiator which is $500 from Honda and the general plastics. U-bolt is very strong and can be trimmed with an angle grinder (but should be sprayed with water to keep the temp from melting the plastic in the 17mm nuts).

No wind noise and provides a place to mount lights, freeway pegs and some sort of wind deflectors for your knees for cold weather riding. I chose them over other types because I really wanted bars that stick out to provide as much protection as possible esp from falling over in the drive way, etc.

Wish list: #1 and additional bar to protect foot peg / lower engine area #2 Removable adjustable wind deflectors for the legs.

Other Brands: the Mutazu seems like the R-Gaza but bigger and the Inpreda at $300 on Amazon seem excellent - probably the best of all worlds but 2x the price of the R-Gaza (or 50% more if including international shipping). I guess I economized a bit because I bought my 2012 2 months ago with 34K miles and have spend ~ $1,200 mostly in accessories and a few maintenance items and still need new tires & chain & sprockets which will run another $450.

Final Thoughts: I didn't want to order from out of the country especially not "Russia" out of fear that there would be a problem with customs or theft en route etc but reading about other peoples experiences convinced me to take a chance.

Thanks for the review.
I ordered a set last week. Shipping says after Christmas delivery. I hope they get here while I’m off work so I can install them.

Just finished installing my R-Gaza crash bars. Started on the right side and wrestled with clutch cable, horn wire, breather hose, radiator overflow tank, tight spaces, etc. Took about an hour to get it on and all torqued down. Then moved to the left side. Wow! Easy peasy. Left side took 10 minutes.

Very, cool thank you for sharing. I’m trying to decide which crash bars I want. Those look a little chunky, but nice. I need somewhere to mount my future auxiliary lights.

I've just ordered mine a few days ago and have read installation information and watched one or two videos to be prepared, but was just wondering if anyone had some guidance or perhaps torque recommendations on the U-bracket fitment as I don't want to overdo it and potentially compromise the frame, but don't want to leave it too loose either so that it doesn't do its job if it has to one day.
Thanks.
