Seat mod......slope change

20150309_121003.jpg2015-03-10 23.25.30.jpg

The mod does not show obvious change aesthetically. however, i had a bit of difficulty putting back the plastic covers. It's gave me a very tight fit and need to push up or down the plastic covers in order to fit the bolts into the holes (Plastic cover holes).

Beautiful bike! Looks great.

That is a great looking bike. It is a deep, deep shame American Honda didn't see fit to sell it in the US.

I often wonder what is the mindset of the policy makers in American Honda. Time and time again I hear folks over there complaining about the fact that elsewhere in the world certain models are available, but not in the US. Why do Honda seem to think that You Guys are so different to the rest of the world. One very obvious model not sold there is the Crosstourer. Also, it appears that some of the other manufacturers have followed suit. Unless I am mistaken, Kawasaki also deprived the US of their first Versys 1000. Is it my imagination or do these strange policies focus mainly on Big Traillies ?

Great Idea!

My simple, fast and cheap seat mod.
Has the seat bracket plate, (the metal plate you placed the 1/2" nuts under) bent from your weight since there is no support for it except the two 1/2" nuts? Also the rubber bumpers on the bottom front of the seat are pressing down on each end of the non-supported metal bracket since there is now 1/2" of space under it.
But I really like the concept, and it is so much simpler than fabricating an elevated "U" bracket to lift the front of the seat. And a lot cheaper! Great "shade tree" engineering!
Please keep us informed on the durability and longevity of your fix.

I also figured that out that it might bend but So far it still in tack and have not bent. I haven't been riding that much though. I will keep everyone posted. I'm also considering changing the 0.5 inch nut with 1.5" washers the strengthen the seat plate.

No kidding - I really think that I would have pulled the trigger on one!

If the NC700S was available when I was shopping for a new bike it would have made the decision that much harder. I really think Honda is loosing a lot of sales. The seat on the S model is quite a bit lower than the NC700X. I test rode the CTX DCT, the seating position on that bike was an absolute no-go for me.

I rode 60 miles on a Sargent seat and it still has the slope and my marbles were NOT in the proper place for most of the ride. Still slid forward.

The Sargent seat ( and your marbles) still can benefit from raising the front seat mount to cure the forward slope issue.

17 in. Wide Drawer Liners for Tool Chests and Cabinet Drawers-DRLINERS-3 - The Home Depot

use to cost 5$

your a** will be literally glued to the seat. :) you can staple a smaller piece that only secure your butt.
serves me well for 2 years now. the HD package was enough to make 3 of those. just don't smash it with your boots, when you are getting to the bike

i got the seat concepts cover in gripper, and it mostly cures the slope shape, and the gripper locks you in for a solid seating position, I like it.
