    Rear 180/55-17 fits?

I was wondering if anybody tried fitting 180/55-17 tires to NC700X rear. (Stock is 160/60-17) I only ride my NC for commuting so off road riding.

I have no opinion or experience with that tire size, but I used Google to find this prior thread on that subject:

Yes, a 180 rear tire will fit (so far)

And, that thread has a link to this thread:

    Biggest rear tire?

Yes, you can put on a 180/55-17 tire on the rear wheel, but the width of the rear wheel rim is too narrow: (refer to rear wheels) Tire/Wheel Fitment | Ridewright Wheels. With too narrow of a rim, the mounted tire won't have the right profile and the bike's handling may be adversely effected.

Commuting or not, a 180 width on a 4.5 inch rim is an improper fit; you will pinch the tire as already noted. And wider than design tires tend to slow turn in.

I have been running a 170 Shinko 705 for about a year. I am happy with it.
