As for the V35 reflectors- no they're not reflective. They're backed by white paper.

I redid the calc using current Fuelly data for the NC700x as 64.1 mpg for 503 manual bikes and 62.8 mpg for 127 DCT bikes. I think that's a large enough sample size for decent accuracy
A couple years ago I compared the manual and DCT mileage numbers on fuelly (I'm a retired research tech). For 176 bikes the manual averaged 61.61 to 59.66 for the DCT.
I'm just a duffer but that sounds like a clutch problem.
Can't help you with the trip planning, other than suggest you do a weekender with all your gear first as a trial run. My other caution is the canvas bag on the seat; I'd think you'd want waterproof....
Just an FYI:
For the NC 750 I couldn't find a rear brake listing in the US catalog, but in the international catalog the rear brake pads are not 140, but FA496 (page 48-49 lines 52-60)....
I concede the point. I was confusing the NC700x linked brakes, where one piston on the front wheel calliper is linked to the rear brake, with combined ABS.
Velcro strap around the lever or a wedge in the pivot point. The 50cc Honda scooter (Fit in Canada, Metropolitan in the States) had a locking rear brake lever- but it is a cable, not hydraulic system
Time to experiment? Put the bike on the centre stand apply the rear brake and try to spin the front tyre?
This is the part number for the Honda relay (I have one on my NC750x).

The down shift point is 11 mph; if you're shutting down the engine at above that speed you're in second gear.
The manual suggests rocking the bike back and forth to disengage the transmission- it might have prevented the bike getting 'confused'. As for stopping the engine in gear, now you know...
There were changes in the 2018 model to be aware of - LED headlights, traction control & raised red line are the main ones. I wouldn't be inclined to be the third owner a two year old model for a 9%...
Congratulations forty two; For just having the discussion I'd call that a win.
Not to put too fine a point on it, look those negative family members and decide if you want to live your life exactly like they live theirs, because that’s the only way to keep them ‘happy’.
Sometimes more isn't better; The first season I toured on the NC I used 159 litres at 92 pounds (Givi V35's & dry bag). The bike was great, but I hated doing low speed maneuvers. Next season I...
It's true 'round the worlder's' do take extra cables with them ( and even extra levers/ visegrips). It's also sugested to install the spare (to make sure it works properly & you know how to do it)....
