This is a repost of a thread from the VFR forumTrim clips - any place cheap or any substitutes ?-gm-clip-jpg:

The fastener on the right is an OEM item from my 07 Honda VFR Interceptor. They are a common fastener used on Honda bikes and seem to be pretty easy to brake. They run nearly $3 each at the dealer.

The fastener on the left is a "GM Push Type" (Ret. 1/4"; hole, TR 240B), which I ordered from thefastenerwarehouse_com at about 24 cents each (minimum order 100 to get the best price - $24.00 with shipping). You can get them for about 90 cents each for a fewer quantity.

The GM Type are a good fit on the VFR, with no mods needed (no expanding the hole) and are a lot heavier-duty than the Honda clips.

    Triumpher,
If you want to sell a few to reduce your inventory, I'll buy a few.
Just let me know how much a piece if I buy 10 clips from you, and the cost to mail to California 93449.
    Thanks,
    PCG

Did anyone find a cheaper source for the Honda type. I think they work pretty good if you take the time to read the manual. Unfortunately my dealer wants $4.32 each. This is a 2012 NC700X I just purchased and who ever wired in the fog lights broke several trying to extract them incorrectly. Their repair was to RTV them back in???? I went in to clean up the wiring and it turned into a bigger job that expected. :-)

    Thanks for that post.
Did you ever send some to others?

If not then I plan to buy a bunch and will send to others for "cheap".

Would you mind posting a link?
All I can find is - Amazon.com: 25 Wheel Opening Retainers GM 21077123: Automotive for $7.99 and free shipping, that is for a +/- 6.3mm hole.

I am curious if Amazon does what I have heard and raises prices on those that shop a lot on Amazon.

Woops sorry I lied they were $8.50 for 20 but with free shipping and no minimum. A 10mm fastener I ordered for the truck was $2.99. But here is the link!

I believe the ones we want are for a 6.4mm hole, not 8. The ones you linked are for an 8mm hole which is to big. You'll have to drill out the hole a little.
