    Frunk power outlet

Hey guys, I'm in the process of intalling my frunk power outlet(dual USB). I have the instructions for installing the Honda power outlet in the trunk and the instructions suggest there are factory marks on the side(outside) of the frunk for this outlet however mine does not have marks in the location illustrated.

    Where have ya'll put yours?

Take a look a little higher. Its there but its up under the side cowl which I assume you didn't remove. I took a guess and drilled close enough for gubmint work from the inside instead of removing the cowl to get it in the factory marked spot perfectly. Everything fits and works fine.

I couldn't find the factory mark either. I just allowed room for the outlet cover and guesstimated the location based on the drawings in the installation instructions. The exact location doesn't seem to be critical as long as there is room to close the frunk lid with the outlet uncovered and the cables and or adapters plugged in.

Where are you tapping into for power to that outlet?
Are you using the whole relay & harness adapter thing, or doing another method?

Nemesis, I'm using the Honda Sub-harness and relay kit. I found corresponding connectors that I can use on the accessory-side to plug directly into the Honda Sub-harness plugs.

    Bob,

Thanks for confirming. I'll put it in that general area making sure I have good clearances.

In the photo below, hopefully you'll see a pic of the Honda power outlet from inside the trunk. The top edge of the outlet's rubber surround is 2 inches down from the top of the black plastic trunk container (small lip or shelf the gasket seals against), and 1 1/2 inches 'back' from the flat front side of the container. Hopefully that helps a little.

P.S. Honda installed this outlet, I did not.
