Heh, that's funny. My first wife was into fencing when we first started dating i laughed at her about it. She took that from me for about a year, then after we were married she whipped me around like a red headed step child! I mean she handed me my hat more then once. I was unable to even get a touch on her and she whipped me every time, badly. I was 6'6" 250 and stout to say the least, i worked 12 hours shifts at a truck stop in their tire shop busting bug heavy truck tires all day long, every day. She was only 5'6" and 125 soaking wet! Man did i get schooled by her. I quickly learned a whole new respect for her and the sport! So, all of that to say... My hat is off to those of you that can do that and are good at it. :{)

Now back to our regularly scheduled program... It was 27f this morning so i brushed off the ice and rode to work. On my way home it was a warm/sunny 47f. :{)

I took the 700 out this evening after dinner. 78 degrees and a tad less humidity than that of late. I have a 40 mile loop I do on evenings like this and halfway through I came up behind a Honda Rune. It was only the second one I've ever seen in the wild. Beautiful sunset.

Those are cool, unique bikes! I wouldn't have one but they are cool for what they are and I enjoy looking at them. I saw 3 of them riding together one time not far from where I work, no idea where they were from, passed by and saw them turning into a gas station. I was in my truck with my wife and remember saying hey there's a Rune! Wait there's another! Wait all 3 are Runes! Figured that was about like finding a 5 or 6 leaf clover.

i've never seen one nor have i even heard of one(they must not like the cold/snow). I had to look them up, sweet looking bike. Although i don't believe i'd ever have one they are kind of cool looking.

Some of that "new concept" stuff Honda tends to pull with designs here and there. Lol. They ain't cheap either. Well, they may be now, but were pretty pricey when they came out. $25k-ish.

Hot humid ride through traffic on the way to fencing practice. Took a more rural route home, humidity was much lower and the temps had dropped at least 10 degrees. Made for a great ride home this evening.

Today, I removed a Michelin PR4 rear tire and installed a Shinko Raven R009. I put a Shinko Raven front on over 10,000 miles ago and itís still going strong. I loved the quick turn in and great handling of the Shinko front, so Iím anxious to try it out with a new matching rear tire. I think I paid $75 for the rear tire with free shipping.

One requirement I now have for tires is that there must be tread at the centerline. Iím tired of thinking I have rubber left, the off-center wear bars are good, and the next thing I see is centerline cord showing. The Ravens meet my requirement for center tread, unlike Conti Motions, or the OEM Metzeler Z8.

This rim is the only only one in my fleet where the heavy spot is actually at the valve stem. On all other rims I have checked, the heavy spot is nowhere near the valve.
