Cheap levers from China (FXCNC brand) so I mostly hoped they worked.

My wife's arrived a week ago for her Rebel 500. Install and fit was just like OEM. Clutch works at any position. Brake works in any position but I feel the two closest to the grip may not allow for panic stops. So 4 of the 6 settings are useable.

My install was also as expected. Even in the closest setting, I was able to get uncomfortably close to the front wheel locking on pavement from 45 mph. Clutch works anywhere... Mostly. The issue here is in positions 2 and 5, I had the lever jump to a lower setting when pulled. Not a big deal as in pulling it all the way in anyway but raises concern. If this happens on the brake lever, aside from being a surprise, it could prevent sufficient braking.

So at this point, I can't recommend them. It's most likely I just got a bad lever and I can get the brake lever to mess up. I'll have to contact the seller and see if they'll warranty it.

Also worth noting, I didn't see any Amazon reviews with this issue. I really think I just got a bad one but...

These are the exact same ones I have. They have worked fine so far. Had them probably a year or so.

Sick pictures!!! Love the knee dragging. Looks cool on the "lowly" NC! Not what most people think of when you hear knee dragger, but sure looks cool. I'd love to do a track day.

I'm in a serious teeter on what to do. Keep the NC and start modding suspension, upgrade to actual race tires, and keep on keeping on, or buy something faster that I can adapt with an electric shifter and a highway peg. The NC does great, but I absolutely hate not being able to out power an R3 on the straight! I can outbrake people, but as I move up into Intermediate group, there are faster riders. But....I am able to carry a pretty fast pace through the turns, and an instructor said I'd probably be in the same boat in Intermediate group as I have been in Novice - passed or outran in the straights and then being all over there rear in the turns. I never got behind anyone in Novice that could carry a faster pace than me in the turns, but I got passed by several (600's and 1000's) and never could pass them again, because they could accelerate so fast that I never got a chance to outbrake them at the next corner, but would be right behind them through the turn.

Adapting a manual shift bike would be so much more money. More money for the initial purchase of the bike, more money to fabricate a highway peg (other bikes aren't as easy as the NC), more money for an electric shifter setup (like $2k+ for a good one - Proshift), and then add in track mods like tires, suspension, etc. I very well may just stick with the NC platform and maybe buy a 750x for street riding or something later. I really want that one the guy has in New Mexico, but I know I don't need to buy another one right now. But I did sell the Grom this weekend....so I have a little extra cash and garage space now. Ha!

I purchased a 120 link and cut it down to the DCT's 112 links. Well actually I just laid out the old chain and cut the new one to the old length. Yes, 520. DID VX2 is a good middle quality chain. I used to rivet the NC chains into endless ones but the last chain I used a master link and it was just fine so I got another one just like it.

That's probably what I will do then, it's definitely the easiest type to remove and clean if needed. Thanks!

Absolutely not. While an R3 has 35 or so hp, it weighs significantly less than the NC and has a much higher rpm range, which means it can stay in gear and in the rpm range where most its power is available for longer than the NC can. I confirmed this against not 1, but several R3's. They won't leave me, but I can't gain on them.

In the vid I posted earlier, there was a chick riding an older Ninja 250, probably around 2010-ish model. She was a newer rider so wasn't very fast in the turns, but when I went to try to pass her on the straights, I just barely moved past her.

In this vid, skip to 1:50, that white bike guy with black leathers is on is an R3, only reason I passed him is because I outbraked him. Then I come right up on the chick on the red ninja 250. I couldn't get around her for another 2 turns, then you can see the struggle to pass her on the straight. It's crazy.

In this vid, my group's instructor, also a girl, is the one who leads out in front of me going onto the track and I follow her for a couple laps, then she points for me to pass so she can evaluate me for bumping up into Intermediate group. She is on an R3 and you can see her pull on me in the straights. Now it may have exhaust, fuel programmer, different sprockets, etc. Idk, but regardless, her bike was clearly faster than mine. Throughout the whole video, we take turns passing each other, so she is visible quite a bit in it.

Today I installed my Dale's Rear Rack. When I bought the bike I didn't notice but the rear seat only has 2 of the 3 nuts and washers in the mounting bracket. I was able to mount the rack, but without the third bolt it doesn't feel quite right. It fit like a dream. I did have a scare when I couldn't get the rear latch to release, but I threw some oil on the mechanism and it seems to be working ok again. I put gas in before hand, so it'll be a couple days before I can refuel and see if all is as it should be.

I also finally replaced my left rider side footpeg with a puig footpeg from revzilla. Had a low side and sheared off my left peg. In the meantime I had been using a passenger peg and it felt and looked pretty bad.

Curious where you bought your sprockets? Chain too, while we're at it. Was gonna buy chain from Sportbike Track Gear, but they are out of stock on the VX2 chains.

I've used sprocket center mostly, they sell individual parts or kits, they've improved their online selection but even before it was a simple click to match what you want with what you could call them and they would set up an order for exactly what you want, now you can mostly do either, if you've got questions they are knowledgeable, costs are competitive (especially the kits) and they are usually the only place that sells the rear sprocket I prefer, superlite.

There're also stocking the VX3 for the same price as they used to sale the VX2, although from what I hear they are basically the same chain anyway
