Fork Seal Leak / Protective Covers?

I developed a fork seal leak over the weekend on my 2012 NC700X at 6700 miles.

Tried using a fork seal cleaning tool to no avail. Taking the bike in tomorrow to get both fork seals replaced.

Are there any boots or protective socks for the NC700X that I can install to prevent this from happening again?

The best I've ever used were short neoprene covers that use velcro, maybe four inches high. I have no idea what brand (there are probably dozens). Be careful of the big black articulated tubes that are popular on dirt bikes. It may not look like it, but they can block a lot of air flow to the radiator.

Shock Sox is the name of the ones I use. They work very well and keep the Arizona sun off of the dust covers on the top of the forks and protect the fork tube area that gets the most movement.

Those are not the brand I used, but like I said, with this type they're all the same. I suggest this style at whatever the lowest price you can find.

Not to derail the fork gaiters thread, but do you have a ride report for this trip?

Not a real report but if you click on my name and then look at post from June and July of 2015 you can read about it. I think that was my 4th trip to Alaska by motorcycle.
