I've oiled it so much there is no visible wear to either sprocket, but the chain is out too far to adjust anymore since i added the 17T/39T. ...time for a new chain! :{)

Look the same to me except D.I.D. didn't have the VX3 Last time I bought a chain it was VX2, same price though

Honda NC700 DCT Sprockets & Chain Kit (choose chain / choose sizes) | SprocketCenter.com

    For the kit

DID Chain 520 VX3 X'ring Chain - GOLD or STEEL color (choose length)

    Just the chain

I've felt like chains have always been expensive, when they last a long time it's not so bad, I didn't align my rear tire properly after installing a new chain (installed after work in the dark) and 400 miles later the chain was already messed up, replaced it after 6,000 miles Replacing chain and sprockets; go cheap or go Honda? I usually get 25,000 plus out of my DID VX2 chain, hopefully the VX3 is even better

I wonder what the specs are for the new VX3. I didn't see it on their website https://www.didchain.com/chainSpecs.html I sent them an email asking for them as I'm a curious cat

Please share what you find, I was specifically curious about the difference between VX2 and VX3

The gauge is reading 16K but corrected that is about 17,800 miles. It is all the way out and i have no more adjustment left in it with the current 17T/39T sprockets. I could swap the 43T back on and adjust it with that giving me some life left in it, but i don't care to revert back to the 43T. I like the power/mpg i get with the current set-up, so a new chain is ordered and on it's way. :{)

Just looked up my chain, new 6,000 miles ago, has not needed adjustment yet. Rode it on wet roads a few weeks ago, started squeaking. First time I've lubed the chain. This seems exceptional to me. This is what I bought in a set with both sprockets from Sprocket Center in 2017 for $125 delivered:
    DID 520VX2 - NATURAL X'ring (750cc rated)

Chain tension check and adjust at 4000-8000 miles is a common.

It’s hard to tell your service interval on chain lube from your post........but..........( pre ride check) chain inspection and lube is usually done about every 500 miles. Just a thought that waiting until it squeaks is waiting too long.

First time I lubed it was a few weeks ago. So about 5,500 miles. I often check the chain, because of the OEM chain that stretched like crazy.

Pretty quick response. From my perspective I see marketing speak but no real difference in the wear resistance when comparing the vx2 vs the vx3.
