That's what I said on my first July in Utah. I had never heard of the holiday until I moved up here from SoCal. July 24th is Pioneer Day, celebrating the arrival of Mormon Pioneers to the Salt Lake Valley. Now, you'd think a Mormon boy like me would have heard about it before, but I hadn't. So now I enjoy an extra day off each year!
This year, I had the day off, but my wife didn't, so I had the day to myself. I decided to go for a little ride.
Here is the route I took:
It was 290 miles and took about 6.5 hours. The weather was nice at the higher elevations, but a bit toasty down in the valleys.
The first leg of the trip was up Big Cottonwood Canyon (a local favorite road) and over the backside of the ski resorts into Park city. Then I headed through Kamas up toward Mirror Lake. This is the first time I've taken this road. it is a beautiful ride. Especially this stretch:

This part featured some great high-speed sweepers all in a row.

And they circle around Bald Mountain.
Serenity enjoyed this section of road so much, she made me go back and ride through it again!
I also saw these sights:
Obligitory Selfie
Look at that water!
Then I crossed into Wyoming
And the roads looked like this:
Luckily, I wasn't in Wyoming for too long. Back to curvy roads! The rest of the trip I was enjoying the ride too much to take (good) pictures.
By the time I got home, I knew it was time for a tire change
I put the new PR4 on, using the zip-tie method. Holy Crap! That was so easy!
