Here's what I'm talking about. I would consider this for my VFR with my existing LEDs, but I'd rather put it on the NCX just for the "safety" aspect of it. Besides, you need to have a LED pod shine against each wheel side, and I can't do that from the exposed side of the single-sided swingarm on the VFR.

More like a photoluminscent rim tape, (i.e glow in the dark) that "charges" by the use of UV type LED pods on either side of the wheels. Seems simple enough. price is not too outrageous. (at least for me) Was wondering if anyone has seen these in action or at a store? Thinking about ordering this weekend.......

A bit over the top for me. I would put it in the same category as neons.

Not the quite the same, as I was an installer for automotive neon back in the 90's. By the way, it would be impossible to mount neon in any traditional fashion to a motorcycle's wheels. (that's probably why everything for bikes now, is LED) However, if you were referring to these lights as "fashion accessory" like neon, then I agree with you. I was wanting them more for the safety aspect. It's a little dark on my side of town.

Yes, that. For safety, I prefer more conventional lighting. I am replacing all of the rear tail/brake/turn lighting on mine and adding side lighting and turn using Whelen LED modules. Whelen is a leader in public safety lighting and their products are very well made. I have used these before and from my own observation and the comments of others, I know they will do the job...

Neat! Too bad I don't ride with the Southwest Rangers (moto escort), I could probably use some of those lights. Even though those Whelen lights would do the job for extra lighting, I think something like the Lunasee ASL kit would grab more attention as it's something not seen everyday. I'm sure everyone would relate it to a Tron Lightcycle, or something. lol!

At Wal-Mart, in the boating department, they sell a led light that has both running and brake lights in it and is waterproff. It is made to be mounted in a panel. I have installed one on my NC & SW. I made a bracket out of sheet alunimum to mount it to. And installed them under the trunk above the brake light on both bikes. They are very bright. Also I have put 3M reflective tape in verious places. It comes in different colors, but thge black type turns white when light hits it at night and is not very noticeable during the day. But the most important thing to do it ware proper riding gear all the time.

It might grab attention, but it might be the wrong type too. In VA a cop could grab you for unnecessary lighting or some B.S. I like the idea, but not for me.

just saw your link on lunasee and I like them. There better than the passive reflective tape on's.
I may ride at night/early mornings so something that gets attention is always good.

My projects is all on visibility. Adding denali lights, rear trunk led lights for my givi v46 and maybe these lunasee.
